Conflicting reports now reveal that renegade Malian soldiers who claim to have seized power in an overnight coup by going on state television to declare they had seized power, say they would look to hand over to a new democratically elected government. Other reports say the government has taken back control but it is not clear where president Amadou Toure is . Foreign minister Moses Wetangula and other high ranking dignitaries from around the world are however still stranded in Mali's capital Bamako after rebellious Mali soldiers attacked the presidential palace yesterday night. Kenya airways on its part is working with the government and is hoping to dispatch a plane to evacuate Wetangula and other Kenyans stranded in Bamako.
